Just as well a new black beer has come on tap at home after a break of almost a week. The last beer was a Vienna lager. But no beer at home is an excuse to buy some: Cascade First Harvest, Malt Shovel Abbey Ale, and Mountain Goat Steam Ale. Ahh, the joys of the Lapstone Hotel bottle shop where the Brakspears keeps making eyes at me. Might have to do something about it this week.

Dan why am I disappointed you'd pass on the pizza beer? the combination of blue cheese and black beer is one of the delights of life. Well really any good cheese and beer is a joy, despite what it does to the glasses. The acidity of wine detracts from the cheese.

Oh dear, the nitrous oxide beer in Israel is a hoax, more disappointments . . .

Forget about stoats Gordon. The beer has to be in road-kill: kangaroos, wombats, sheep, cattle AND it would have to be a Darwin stubby at the least.

The way to do the beer would be with cooling coils and minus 15 degree glycol. To do it commercially would require lots of paperwork with the tax office, and the excise would be the higher rate for spirits. Still it's gotta be cheap marketing.

I'd pass on drinking the pizza beer, but Gorgonzola - now you're talking!

Pretty sure the NO2 beer in that list is a hoax.

Hi Pat,
yes they are in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.

I see we have stoats in Australia.......fancy a mega brew???
By all accounts they use freeze distillation.......bet some poor soul got very cold.
Run some of that stuff in the glycol cooler...it would work a treat.

Hi Gordon,

I had been told they were in Edinburgh. A couple of their standard gravity beers I tried had no address on the labels. Even by whisky standards 55% ABV is strong.

That's a fair bit up the coast from Edinburgh, guess they wanted an alternative to Whisky.
Boy that stuff would knock you flat, do they need a reinfored tank for that one???
