Casey's Beer

Welcome to Casey’s Beer. About 8 years ago, somewhat later in life, I discovered my vocation: to brew beer. Having driven taxis for too long to be able to work for someone else I decided the only thing to do was to start a brewery.

Of course that was too big a bite to take first up. So as a step on the path towards establishing a brewery I decided to open a homebrew shop. In March 2003 I opened Blue Mountains Brewing Supplies at Faulconbridge. Then in March 2006 I opened Absolute Homebrew at St Marys in western Sydney.

The reasons for opening the shops were to learn more about brewing and the brewing industry, and to gain experience running a business.  I have learnt a lot in the last 6 years, and now it is time to put it into practice.

Preparations have finished and it is now time to start this brewery project. The idea of the website is to chart the progress of the project, and of course I’ll be looking for eventual customers.

I also want your inputs. One of the great experiences of the shops has been brewing for customers andwatching them enjoy the beers I’ve had on tap in the shops. Many customers over the years have quizzed me about when I would start a brewery. I’ll shortly be putting a beer survey on the website to get your views and opinions about beer in general and the beer you drink.
