Henry tax review
The Treasury secretary Ken Henry has been overseeing a review of the tax system. He has finished the review and it is now with the Government. It will probably be released around the time of the Federal budget in May. There were many public submissions to the review. The full list of submissions can be found here. The list is quite interesting. In many ways it is a matter of the usual suspects, but there are also some quite surprising submissions.
Here are some of the submissions concerning tax and alcohol. Some of them take the meaning of self serving to new heights. It is curious that the Australian Association of Microbrewers did not make a submission.
